“Treat clients as partners not customers so that they will see Skunkworks as their IT Partner, IT Department or IT Support, not as just another third-party provider.”

Neil

As co-founder of Skunkworks IT, Neil has been at the heart of the company’s evolution having brought over 15 years of IT sector experience with him.

He’s looking to continue growing with and growing the company by ensuring the high standards are maintained throughout and that Skunkworks’ investments in their staff keeps them ready to go that extra mile to help clients get the most out of their IT infrastructure.

Gemma

How does she pilot the team through client project cycles?
She defines the scope, determines the goals and delivers the results.

Scott

Technical Engineer

After 11 years working for a large ISP (Internet Service Provider), Scott arrived here at Skunkworks in early 2021. His extensive network communications and internet connection troubleshooting knowledge is of vital importance for his onsite IT support at a number of West Midlands schools.

As more educational institutions continue to partner with us, Scott is ear-marked as the escalation point for our team of on- and off-site school technicians.

Marcus

Technical Engineer

An experienced IT professional with over 5 years of customer service expertise, Marcus holds CompTIA A+ and N+ qualifications as well as being Barracuda and Watchguard certified. For those not in the industry, that means he knows what he’s doing.

He manages the Help Desk, performs IT repairs, and supports various projects from both our Business and School partnerships.  Additionally, he excels in networking, server maintenance, backup management, Microsoft 365 and will continue his endeavour to make “IT” work.

Jonny

Marketing / Sharepoint Designer

Jonny came to Skunkworks in 2020 after 7 years as a graphic designer for a creative and digital marketing agency. In addition to bringing his talent for design to us and our partners, he’s upskilling with various certifications in Sharepoint and Power Apps – a custom business apps service – in which he already has a keen interest.

So he’ll shortly be enabling improved efficiency for even more partners by helping them develop their own internal sites and apps.

Carl

Application Support Analyst

A qualified Business Administrator with over a quarter of a century’s worth of IT industry experience, from tech support through to warehouse management and logistics, Carl brings a wealth of knowledge to the Skunkworks team at many levels of the business.

Fully certified in the software we recommend and manage, he is our safe-pair-of-hands analyst for cyber-security and system integration. Viruses, malware, phishing, ransomware attacks – he makes sure your private or public-sector systems are installed correctly, remain monitored and up-to-date.

Chris

Schools IT Technician

Every organisation has unique requirements. Some of our partners require and appreciate having a friendly, experienced IT technician not just ‘on-call’ but ‘on-site’. Enter Chris: providing the service that the education institution he is dedicated to requires. His journey started early, in a small computer shop reinstalling operating systems and building computers.

He then progressed to 1st and 2nd line tech support for individuals and companies before becoming an on-site technician in the public sector.

Scott

Schools IT Technician

Greenkeeping and warehousing – that’s what prepared Scott to join the Skunkworks team as one of the 2023 vintage. In other words, meticulous, organised and hands-on – exactly who you want managing your network infrastructure and cabling projects and ensuring standards and best practices are adhered to.

He is also our go-to for renovations and re-purposing: turning that unused projector room into a dedicated server room, setting up CCTV systems or re-fitting Skunkworks’ own build area to improve our efficiency.

Alister

Marketing Partner

Practice what you preach: just as we work as a partner to our clients, Alister at SPT Business has worked as our partner since early 2020.

Our marketing and written content requirements fluctuate throughout the year – Alister’s flexibility and 20 years of multi-industry experience allows us to call on him for what’s required, when required, or for him to act proactively where there is the need. He’s writing this Meet the Team page as we…
